About the job
To provide support to the SCA Victorian Board in its policy, research and advocacy activities, with a focus on Government legislation, policies and programs that affect and impact strata communities.
We seek someone who is comfortable working in a small, close knit team, has the ability to work autonomously, superior written and verbal communication skills and has a genuine "can do" attitude. Our office is based close to local shops and public transport.

Qualifications / Experience
Knowledge of property and economic policy in relation to the provision of strata living in Australia would be desirable.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects at the same time.
Excellent skills in writing, sourcing evidence-based material, and strategic communication is essential.
Responsibilities
Remain well informed and identify current, evidence-based literature relevant to policy areas that impact members and the Association
Monitor and provide timely analysis of developments in policy areas that affect strata communities.
Inform development of appropriate strategies, projects and advocacy aims.
Research, consult and write policy position statements and submissions incorporating strong member input.
Identify relevant media opportunities, including specialist and mainstream media.
Prepare correspondence, submissions, reports, funding applications, advocacy briefs, presentations, news articles and other documents as required.
Foster and maintain positive relationships with media, and with communications teams from member organisations.
Gather and facilitate information sharing within the SCA network on issues and activities (external and internal) pertinent to member’s needs and interests.

Our work is about bringing together professionals who understand the complex laws that govern strata/survey/strata property, with the people who live and work in strata communities. We provide education, accreditation, advice, and advocacy to enable greater understanding of the legislative environment and individuals’ rights and obligations.
