Working closely with the Vic Board and the National Education Manager, the Learning and Development Manager will champion SCA’s strategic goal to “continue to deliver high quality education to members and the public”; identify high level training needs and supporting relationships with Education Providers in the VET or Academia Sector.

The part-time Learning and Development Manager is responsible for ensuring that a range of quality programs, courses and activities, that respond to industry needs in accordance with the aims and objectives of SCA are met.

We seek someone who is comfortable working in a small, close knit team, has the ability to work autonomously, superior written and verbal communication skills and has a genuine "can do" attitude. Our office is based close to local shops and public transport.

Qualifications / Experience

  • At least 3 years experience and a thorough knowledge of the VET sector, VET Quality Framework and Standards.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable

  • Effective oral communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work within tight timelines and willingness to multitask (essential)

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy and resourcefulness

  • Evidence of change management and the implementation of new initiatives including curriculum development

  • IT excellence with Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, a creative mindset and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of training and assessment strategies.

  • Ensure programs are designed in line with training requirements.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of training and assessment material aligned to the training strategy.

  • Planning and executing the training package transition projects.

  • Design applicable training packages for legislation and regulation requirements.

  • Monitor and improve training, assessment, and learning support services, ensuring that they are consistent with learning and assessment strategies for each program.

  • Promote awareness of training programs to the relevant stakeholders.

  • Coordinate and liaising with subject matter experts

  • Conduct professional development and induct trainers on learning responsibilities and tasks

  • Conduct meetings with industry stakeholders.
